Young, Davis & Butler Claim Desert Classic Places
DARIN YOUNG, Bill Davis and Larry Butler have all qualified for the televised stages of the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic through the BEN Pro Rankings.
The trio will now automatically qualify for the first round of the Desert Classic, which is being held from June 30-July 6, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
The Bulls-Eye News Pro Rankings are formed from 17 tournament held in the past year around the USA, which culminated in the PartyPoker.net PDC US Open and North American Darts Championship last weekend.
Young, the NADC champion, maintained his place at the top of the rankings with his performance in Connecticut.

The PA State Dart Tournament Is The Grand Daddy Of Them All Now In It's 40th Year!
Press Release!
The dates for the 40th consecutive running of the Pennsylvania State Dart Tournament have been announced. The PA State Dart Tournament is the most prestigious American Style Dart tournament in the world.
This year the event will take place over the weekends of January 19th through February 23rd.
Being an American style dart event, the tournament uses wooden dartboards and American style darts. Darto is the official dart of the 2008 State Tournament although players are allowed to bring their preferred darts for use in the event. The game played during the event is Baseball.
The event consists of several weekends of qualifying tournaments followed by the final tournament. Each qualifying tournament will have at most 16 teams and begins at noon. Teams that are undefeated in the qualifier are placed in the winner’s bracket of the final tournament. Teams that have a single loss on qualifying day are placed in the loser’s bracket in the finals.
Any team that loses twice during the qualifying tournament is eliminated from the event.
Teams consist of up to four players with three players shooting each game. There are no divisions or tiers in the State Tournament so players are not required to bring proof of their league dart averages.
Entry fee for the PA State Dart Tournament is $50 per team!

The A.B.D.A. is for league shooters from leagues that keep individual averages. Once a shooter participates in an A.B.D.A. tournament they automatically become a member. There are
NO
MEMBERSHIP FEES!
The Qualifier Tournaments are in place so that a league can host a local tournament
for the players that really aren't interested in traveling too much and also
to benefit financially the league and/or establishment that hosts the event.
It also benefits the local teams that QUALIFY (the top 25% get a SEEDED PLACEMENT
in the draw for the finals in Emmaus). ALL OTHER TEAMS (including teams that
may NOT HAVE QUALIFIED LOCALLY) are still welcomed and encouraged to enter
the finals event (providing there is room in the draw) and accept the usual
luck-of-the-draw placement. We have opened up the draw this year so we can
accommodate more teams and consequently pay out more prize money!

This is a national dart association that is broken into classified divisions for competitive tournaments. Each region may host a regional qualifier tournament, with the top teams going on to a national title championship tournament.
