Incredible "Bounce Out"!
Friday Night Luck Of The Draw Tournament 6/25/10

George Haines Has Last Dart "Bounce Out" Of 18...
It Registers, But Then Lodges In Hole Of Shaft Of Other Dart!!!
Incredible!!!
The King of the Hill 4 is history. It was a beautiful day. The weather was nice and the air conditioners were working. So were the folks behind the bar - in overdrive. Thanks to everyone. Thanks to the shooters ( over of 60 of you showed up and played). Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks to the bar staff (Jaime, Melina, Ian, and Adele) and kitchen staff (Drew and Anthony). The service was great and so was the food. Thanks Bob for the venue, picking up the extra boards, and setting up. Thanks to Mark and Drew for your help in setting up. Thanks Erik for driving the Safe Ride van, it does make a difference. Thanks to Jessica and the AMBUCS people for your assistance and for running the charity draws. I understand we made over $700 for purchasing AmTrykes that provide mobility and independence for people with disabilities. Thanks Joanie for all the little things and for helping get the word out there and drawing all of the shooters to our event.
As has been the case for the past three events, we had a good mix of shooters with some fantastic matches being played. As good as it is to play in one of those matches, sometimes it is good to sit on the sidelines and watch those matches and cheer for the competitors. In the end we paid out over $2300 to the players in five events.
Again, thanks to everyone for making this a great day! If I left out any names, it was not intentional and I thank you also. Congratulations to all the shooters for a fine day of darts and to the winners for their accomplishments.

2nd Annual Chris Williams Benefit
& Dart Tournament
In House Final Spring League
Men's Singles League
Well, five weeks and it is over. The Singles League Championship was held at HATTRICKS last night (Tuesday, Feb 17) and it was a slugfest.
First round matches had Drew Bolak taking down Stu Russell 4 – 1. Jim Kinee went 4 – 3 over Ray Prodorutti (who hit an amazing 170 out for one of his wins). Dan Benner bested Eddie Rebstock in a 4 – 3 match that had everyone watching closely. And Tom Blake took Matt Famularo 4 – 2.
In the second round, Jim Kinee took out Drew Bolak 5 – 2 and Den Benner got by Tom Blake 5 – 1.
That set up the First To Seven finale. Dan jumped off to a 3 – 1 lead. He never looked back. Jim thought he had a chance when the match got to 6 – 5 but Dan put the final away and 7 – 5 was the result.
Congratulations, Dan! You shot super all night and got a well-deserved win. You are the First Lansdale Area Soft Tip Singles Champion. Or, how about the First LAST Singles Champion.
Congratulations to all the other players as well. You shot good darts each week and had some fun at the same time. And so did I.
Yes, we will do it again.
But first, it’s the ladies turn. Notices have been up for three
weeks now for the women’s singles league. I only have entry money
from one lady so far. If we are going to do this, I need the entry money
this week. Otherwise it will be a no-go. So, if you want to play, let me
know!

The results are in. The 3rd Annual King of the Hill was a huge success. Hosted at HatTricks Sports Bar and Grill in Hatfield Pennsylvania, over $600 was raised for the Make-A-Wish foundation. Over $2500 was paid out in prize money. Over 12 hours was spent playing darts and enjoying the company of all our fellow shooters.
Compared to last year’s tourney, this one was actually pretty cool. I mean the air conditioners were all working and it wasn’t the hottest day of the year. But it was a gorgeous day and that may have kept some of the other shooters away enjoying those last throes of a summer vacation. All in all there were about 50 die hard darters who ventured into Hatfield.
The opening events were the Open and Women’s Singles. Some of the 501 matches were awesome to watch. In the end Joe Haganey defeated Brian Haas to claim the title of King of the Hill for 2008. Mike Abboud and Ray Prodorutti finished in 3rd and 4th. On the Women’s side, Leah Amato was crowned Queen of the Hill. Chandre Grove, Shawnee Cuthbert and Steph Haas rounded out the top four.
The events then switched to Doubles Cricket. The Open event was won by Almost Lucky (Joe Haganey and Michael Abboud). The Rusty Nuts (Steve Keller and Brian Haas) took second. Jerk Em Up (Shawn Kemmerer and “B” McCollum) placed third and How You Doing (Bud Leonard and Ray Prodorutti) took fourth. In the Women’s Doubles, Suck My Flipper (Lynda Hearn & Chandre Grove) beat out M & M (Michelle Futak and Melanie Snyder) for the crown. The Bitches (Shawnee Cuthbert and Joanie Schnell) and 5-Hour (Steph Haas and Kate Albright) rounded out the money winners.
The luck of the draw finished the night. Due to the lateness of the evening and the fact that we had already been playing for over 13 hours, 1st and 2nd place was shared by Tom Blake/Brian Haas and Michael Abboud/Colin. Third place went to Bud Leonard/Bill Harper and fourth to Ed Schnell/Drew Bolak.
I want to thank everyone who showed up to play. The drama was kept to the bare minimum and everyone appeared to have a good time. Hopefully it wasn’t all alcohol induced. Thanks to HatTricks (and Bob Weimar) for hosting the event and providing additional monetary incentives for the shooters (and for the air conditioning). Thanks to Lansdale Amusement for adding money to the pot and providing the vehicle for transporting the extra boards. Thanks to the MadHatters for their work in raising additional money for Make-A-Wish. Thanks to Kim and the 5th Street Pub for providing the extra boards. Thanks to Joanie and all the money watchers and helpers at the registration table. Thanks to Drew and Anthony, the food never tasted better and breakfast was a special treat for many. And thanks to the staff and friends of HatTricks, Teresa, Jess, Katie and Kathee for providing us with the libations and the means to drink them during the entire event. If I did forget anyone, I apologize and do extend my sincere thanks for everyone once again making this a successful and enjoyable event.
Who knows, maybe next year I may even play in it. Thanks again.
